His works have been shown in solo exhibitions at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Potsdam, the HARTMANN GALLERY in Berlin, Galerie M in Potsdam, Galerie Bernau, Galerie Solitaire in Berlin, Galerie ABADI in Berlin, and Galerie Arcus in Berlin. He has also participated in group exhibitions at the 8th and 10th Triennale internationale du papier at the Musée Charmey (CH), at the Verein Berliner Künstler, Berlin, the “International Paper Art Triennial” at the Museum Deggendorf, the Galerie im Rathaus in Biesenthal, the Kunstverein Haus 8 in Kiel, and the new gallery in Haifa (IL). Karsten Kelsch was nominated for the Brandenburg Art Prize in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2020.

Work Title: Irgendwo im Nirgendwo

Where the village of Schöpsdorf once stood in Upper Lusatia, a void shaped by open-pit lignite mining now stretches out. The series brings together 12 + 1 views of a vanished place and sketches an imaginary geography of memory.

Kelsch addresses the disappearance of landscapes and habitats—and asks what remains when a place is physically wiped out. Painting and object art coalesce into silent images of loss, memory, and transformation.
