In 2014, she completed her bachelor’s degree with a focus on painting, media art, and art history at the University of Osnabrück. After a study abroad program at Hansung University in Seoul in the class of Prof. Eberhard Bosslet, she continued her training at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague in the Glass Studio under Prof. Rony Plesl. In 2021, she completed her diploma program in Sculpture and Spatial Art at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, where she is currently a master’s student under Prof. Monika Brandmeier. 

Her works have been presented in numerous exhibitions both in Germany and abroad; she has also completed residencies in Dresden and Seoul, as well as stays abroad in the Czech Republic and Peru. 

Work Title: Coal Conversation Pit

With her Coal Conversation Pit, Victoria Gentsch invites visitors to linger in the barn. Her briquette sofa becomes a place for encounter and exchange, while Simone Schmidt fills the other half of the barn with light and drumbeats, creating an atmospheric alternative world.
